Can you explain Demons and Occult Power?

The power of Demons and Satan has always been real.  The first incident in which we read of it is in Scripture Genesis 3:1 Genesis 3:14-15 

Eve was sedced by the first lie, the serpent was cursed for allowing himself to be used by the "Father of Lies," and we get the first Prophecy of the Messiah to come who would cruse the head of the serpent.

So yes, the power and seduction of the spirits that rebelled against God have always been real and are very real today.

Isaiah (Prophet of Isreal) declared God's word against all forms:
And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead? (Isa. 8:19)

There is a strong revival of demon power in America over the last decade. I personally believe it is greatly inspired by Satan himself as he knows that his time is drawing short, as the Lord is soon to return.

The Bible reveals the truth for our lives.  This one area in which God's word is very definite and not at all left for interpretation.

The only Purpose for Seeking Supernatural Power from any Source other than God is to bypass God and accomplish the same result in ones own way.

Another ancient example in Scriptures: When Moses confronted Pharoh; for proof God sent him he threw down his rod and it became a serpent.  Pharoh's majicians did the same; however, Moses serpent swallowed the other 3.  Satanic power was very present, but God showed He was the one true God; all others were vain imatators.

The goal  (of seekers of dark powers) is simply that they want useable power.  This desire is for power they can control and use for their personal benefit.  Even the so called "good witches" wicka use their powers to promote themselves.

Every witch doctor seeks great power; Every wizard seeks to know the unknown.

Jesus said there would be those who would try to sneak into Heaven not using the door. But He called them thieves and robbers. John 10:1

He said, "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes unto the Father but by me." John 14:6

There was an Angel who sought Rebellious Power.

People today still seek this exaltation of themsevles over God.  To obtain an selfish gain through this power.

Satan is alive and well on planet earth as on book title states. He sees the curious and those wanting reach into the spiritual world. He will seduce and draw that person deep into the web until they are completely bound. He will take you further than you wanted to go; and keep you longer than you ever thought you would stay.

A seeker of the truth must first find the Real Truth, the Life and The Way and as they seek Him they will fine a pure power that never turns the seeker into a victim.

The Holy Power of God is to fulfill the commission of Isaiah 61:1-2.

Many are still being lied to by false religions and cults as Eve was in the garden.  Remember, she was offered equality with God.  It is the very same lie peddled this very day and until Christ returns for the church.  Many fall for that bait just as Eve.

Others fall into the 'Harry Potter' fantasy.  The poor, weak, abused and insecure.  They seek a power to equalize their playing field.  God's way (for these people) too passive, assuming they had even considered Him.  God is love and they most often have visions of this power giving them revenge and or exalting them to a place of stardom.  A position where everyone will envy them; especially those who treated them badly. 

Some pursue the occult simply because they are curious and want to know the unknown (Ouija boards, tarot cards, meditations, etc).  They are the innocent lambs led off the path and down a slippery slope.

This dark power does not come without price to the seeker. 

One is drawn in often with glimmers of a truth; (there is away that seem right - but the end is death Proverbs 14:12) to find too late Satan is a liar and the father of all lies. Depression which leads to drugs, despair, and death is a heavy burden..

Another price is involvement with drugs.  It give a false anointing, a counterfeit of the Holy Spirit of God. The use of drugs have never, NEVER, had a pleasant end result. Due to the use of psychedelic drugs, the human brain is more often tormented and sometimes even destroyed. Tim Leary proposed LSD would lead you to God in the 60's.  I was there and now 40 years later, I know no one, may I repeat NO ONE, in 2006 that is a worshiper and follower of God because they dropped acid.

Those Powers being sought often show up demanding blood. Victims are sacrificed, not just the neighbors cat. That victim could be the newest seeker.

God is very direct and specific about those who delve into this spirit world.

When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, or practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. (Deut. 18:9-12)

Clearly, according to the Word, we are to avoid all forms of the occult and focus only on God's power and goodness. Power from any other source is sinful, and it is an abomination. It is rebellion against God. The wages of that sin is death. Romans 6:23

But – God so loved He gave...

Romans 5:8 He commended, showed His loved, to us in that while we were living in rebellion and sin He gave Himself for us and died in our place to brake the hold of Satan on our lives. And now matter how far down the path of darkness you think you have gone all you have to do is whisper His name. And He will snatch you out Satan’s hand. All we like sheep have gone astray; but God laid upon Him, Jesus, our sins and sorrows, our depression and despair. Come to Him right now. Don’t delay one more second!
